INDUSTRY OF CLERICAL FABRICS
ATHENS-GREECE
SINCE 1948

Since 1948, our company deals with the clerical production for the Orthodox Church.
Clerical fabric remains one of the most basic elements of the orthodox tradition. It was first appeared as empire outfit, in the early byzantine years, during the fourth century right after the establishment of christianity as the official religion of the Byzantine empire. Emperor Ioustinianus and Empress Theodora as well as Empress Irina too, used such fabrics with religious representations, taken from the Old Testament and the Holy Gospels, enriched with orthodox symbols. During the seventh century these fabrics began gradualy to be established as the official clerical outfit.
It’s not a simple clothing and decorating fabric, but a real state of art which characterizes its era and through which the artist makes an effort to render the impression of peaceful greatness, stable power, respect, quiet eternity and glory.
For every new fabric’s creation takes part a whole team of people of many specialties such as designers fo byzantine art, priests, monks, teztile manufacturers, chemists and many others as well. Elements are been collected from church and monastry treasuries, church books and museums as well.
Our fabrics fulfit all the conditions and specifications for an excellent quality and suitability for clothing use.
